Practical work experience and research programs for undergraduate and graduate students.

Activity Code : Wex01

Summary of the Activity : NaRLA is offering practical work experience and research programs, ranging from 'introductory' to 'advanced' levels, for undergraduate and graduate students interested in any aspect of nature conservation.

Opportunities will be available for students to work with NaRLA's staff and consultants and others to develop their knowledge and skills on topics selected by each student from a wide variety of fields related to nature conservation including: organisational development, small business management and administration, flora and fauna surveys, wildlife research, wildlife management and conservation, ecology, property management planning, environmental management, communications, design and management of information systems, community education, and graphic design.

NaRLA's practical work experience programs offer an outstanding and rare opportunity for students with a career or private interest in nature conservation to develop and refine their practical knowledge and skills in a variety of fields related to nature conservation, while at the same time, making an important practical contribution to nature conservation in Queensland through their work with NaRLA.

The Queensland-wide range of NaRLA's unique combination of services and activities also offers post-graduate students exciting research opportunities in nature conservation-related aspects of ecology, land management, economics, marketing, sociology, community education, communications, and environmental policy development and implementation.

These work experience and research opportunities, individually custom-designed for each student, are a great way for students to research an assignment, satisfy practical work placement requirements, or test in practice the waters of real life to see if the career they are considering really is for them.
